Crim 3655 lecture 07 - the police use of force. Using stun guns or tasers are seem to be more humane, but being electrocuted can kill you as well. Officers are being told that force will be a last resort. There is a major transformation happening policing, due to public scrutiny. The interrogation is in the form of a monologue presented by the investigator rather than a question and answer format. Video shown in class: the fifth estate; the interrogation room. People manipulated by police officers until they lie and tell the police what they want to hear essentially, police make people say what they want to hear. November 3rd 2006, a birthday party was taking place, an evening that would end in tragedy-- birthday boy eric morgan. There was video footage, and bad eye witness testimonies. Morgan had an alibi as he was standing beside his best friend at the time of the shooting.
