Consensus activities are more likely to be seen in activities and duties of policing and order- maintenance. Order maintenance projects society from harm in bringing people into the crime funnel based on neutral order. There is a fine line between targeting certain kinds of behaviour and populations. Law-enforcement is political (crack cocaine vs. powder cocaine) Political neutrality is important in policing, although they are not formally tied to the political agendas of any political parties. Policing is still political in its effects and policy-formation. Challenges the idea of neutral policing in general and order maintenance in particular to say that policing activities create a particular kind of order that renders it a kind of control. The particular kind of order is the goal of law enforcement. The role of ideology in law enforcement: principles of equality replaced by suspicion and discriminatory biased views of a particular population.
