Document Summary

In certain animals, there are two ways for the peritoneum to develop: schizocoely, enterocoely. Ectoplasm vs. endoplasm: both part of cytoplasm, endoplasm is more uid; contains f-actin ( lamentous, ectoplasm is more gel-like; contains g-actin (globular) Osmolarity: the concentration of a solution expressed as the total number of solutes per litre. Individual actin subunits act as solutes, therefore, as solutes they increase solute concentration in that that area (osmolarity) H2o component of cytoplasm streams to that area by osmosis (cytoplasmic streaming) Once lobopodia forms, we link up actin subunits again which keeps the lobopodia semi-permanent. H2o streaming into that area so it pushes against membrane so lobopodia is extended and g-actin forms into f-actin. Filopodia: much slimmer than lobopodia, contain only ectoplasm and lack a hyaline cup: lobopodia (amoeba, lopodia have no indication of any g-actin or endoplasm, only ectoplasm as far as we can tell, so they form differently.
