Different approach of accumulation by dispossession - accumulating capital by the act of dispossession - richer analysis. Harvey renames primitive accumulation to accumulation by dispossession. Legal and non-legal predatory practices of accumulation. Examples: privatization, displacement of peasants and farmers, changes to legal rights, Nancial and debt processes, colonialism and imperialism, biopiracy, ponzi schemes, raiding of companies. But also socialism (forced collectivization - accumulation of the means of production) Indigenous peoples (dispossession of their lands, forced privatization of their communal property), other movements. An economic philosophy that argues for minimal government involvement in the economy (eg. privatization, deregulation) and the downsizing of the role of government. It extends the economist myth of the division between the economy and government.
