The black church is known as the oldest and most influential thing within the black community. The author states how there are similarities (487). The fear of homophobia thus then can be due to the confirmation of black people as sexualized race survival consciousness (bio-nationalism) black masculinity is defined in hyper masculine terms. This represent how a good person behaves and looks like. It easier to raise a cause for the white victim versus others.
