What kind of evidence has been used historically: blood is used as a basis for placing people in social hierarchies. Race: race is a culturally constructed form of identity and social hierarchy; race refers to the presumed heredity and physical characteristics of a group of people. These physical or phenotypic (or physical) differences are often erroneously correlated with behavioral attributes. Minstrelsy ruled the american stage during the 1830"s, 40"s and 50"s, playing to an economically and socially broken country. The industrial north was pitted against the agrarian south and its slave labor. Minstrelsy reflects the white fascination with stereotyped inferior black bodies: cultural appropriation we can think about it as the use of a minority culture"s symbols, artifacts, genres, rituals, or technologies by members of the dominant majority culture.
