Last week, we talked about how people cope with challenges to their worldviews. We"ve looked at worldviews and how they change and adapt based on people"s place in the world, what they are confronted with. We"ve looked at cargo cults and other millenarian movements, Rastafarianism (last week), that emerge usually in response to major social upheavals caused by colonialism. The responses of people usually with no power, means that they try to find ways to make meaning in their lives with what they have and by sometimes trying to recover what they lost.
