Use multiple wi-fi access points to create a wide area network that can be quite large. Cell phones use waves to provide 2 way communication with radio towers called cells. Mobile portals: aggregate and provides content and services for mobile users. Voice portals: website with an audio interface. Location-based services: provide information specific to a location. Wireless transmission and receipt of data gathered from remote sensors. Rfid: allows manufacturers to attach tags with antennas and computer chips on goods and then track their movement through radio signals.
