A manager is an individual at any point of the company. Roles of managers are interpersonal role, informational roles and decisional employees work effectively roles. Decisional role: entrepreneur: responsible for making economic decisions and making new strategies for the business. When asked about what role a manager is playing, look at what role they are focusing on, as they are using multiple roles, but one role in particular. Classical philosophies looks at the task at hand. Frederick taylor is the father of the classical approach. Scientific management: created by frederick taylor, involves standardizing work, supervising workers and motivating workers. Standardizing is breaking the job down to the simplest form and find the best way to perform the job. Standardization also involves setting rules so that there is consistency in the product. Supervising involves making sure that the standardization rules are followed. Finally, motivation is the job of the manager.
