In the course, we will learn why women have had to fight hard for basic human rights in canada. We all judge others according to how they dress, eat, talk, move, etc. Different attributes are given to woman and wife (caring, nurturing) vs. man and husband (breadwinner, tough) Women who were beginning to understand systematic exclusion began to advocate for the universities to include women studies in the courses being seen as less valuable and competent. The courses focused why men were the model of human life and women. This lead to the development of women(cid:495)s studies departments throughout. What is gender? therefore they can shovel snow, take out garbage, bbq) How we are socialized into male or female roles in society. Categorized certain traits related to genders (ex. males are aggressive: this is a way in which biology translates into a (cid:494)natural(cid:495) skill. Gender includes the traits we learn/exposed to.
