Genocide includes: causing physical or mental harm to members of a group, killing members of a group, cultivating the conditions that destroy life, preventing reproduction within a group, removing and transferring children out of a group. Most genocide does not come from conflict, it is planned and one sided. Two key issues , can we undated the causes, see the warnings and can we prevent it. Humanity has to understand to be accountable for things. Even with a framework in place, people didn"t know that genocide was a thing. Central concern: how can contempt lead to a hate crime and then go genocide. Relies on various people ( bully, bystanders) Banal ( simple progression into extraordinary evil: almost a script to follow, sense of observing whats happening else where . Once terror is created the bully doesn"t have to fear retaliation: bullying built into school text, bullying is something you learn, language and tools we learn as children.
