Document Summary

We all want to love and be loved. If you do not have anyone to love, your heart may dry up. Love brings happiness to ourselves and to the ones we love thich nhat hanh 1997. Thich nhat hanh was an outspoken peace activist during the vietnamese war. He was one of the leading monks who thought that action was called for in the face of what he perceived to be great social injustices committed by both the communist forces of the viet. Cong and the u. s. backed vietnamese government lead by ngo dinh diem. Rather than remaining within their buddhist temples meditating hanh and other monks became socially engaged. They applied their understanding of love by providing assistance to human beings on both sides of what he would later term an ideological war. He even suggests that our heart may dry up if we don"t have anyone to love.
