Studying working memory: general method (dmts, present stimulus to be remember, make sure animal attends to it, remove stimulus (retention interval, ri) allowing them to retain the info (10- The longer the retention interval the worst the memory: stimulus presentation time, change the amount of time it is presented. The more you practice the better the memory : interference, disrupt your memory. More interference the worse your memory: proactive, retroactive, human memory affected by ri and number of presentations in both working and reference memory. Increasing time between trails increases the memory: more to learn -> more learning! Interference: proactive interference (pi) results from not being able to distinguish things from the past, ex. Mts- show sample and peck at it, then there"s a retention interval, then given a test and match it you get rewarded.
