Excessive non specific anxiety and worry for more than 6 months. Some people report that a panic attack feels like a heart attack. Repeated panic attacks + ongoing fear of future attacks. Persistent, irrational fear of some specific object, situation, or activity that poses no real danger. Realize fear is irrational but compelled to avoid the feared object or situation. Social phobia fear of interacting with others, avoid social situations. Agoraphobia fear of open places or being in a situation from which escape is difficult or impossible. Specific phobia fear of specific things. Obsessions persistent, recurring, involuntary thoughts, images or impulses that invade consciousness and cause great distress. Common themes: worry about contamination, doubt as to whether a certain act was performed.
