Grehin: stomach secretes this to make you hungrier by causing stomach contractions. Viewing palatable (tasty) food triggers increase in insulin leading to hunger. Normative cues: socially appropriateness of the situation. Presence of others: eat more with other people than alone. Variety: increase consumption by eating different things. Quantity available: consume what"s in front of you. Operant conditioning: rewards for eating certain foods (i. e. vegetables)
