There are limited resources (money, benefits), but there are many demands. We need a process to decide which groups and which goals receive support. We need to resolve any conflicts that could arise. Also about resolving disagreements and conflicts over values and world issues. Achieving an objective by influencing the behavior of others. Getting someone to do something they would have not otherwise done. Often involves a relationship but depends on circumstances, and there are constraints. The first face involves dominating or controller others through: coercion (force/threat) (fines/tickets, inducements (bribe) (tax breaks, bonus grades, persuasion (logical argument, power through leadership (oprah) Some people benefit from certain problems remaining. Power is exerted by controlling political agenda, and by keeping issues off f the political agenda.
