Document Summary

The purpose of this experiment was to relate the concept of torque to the static. This was done using a weight scale pulley, two different types of meter sticks and weights. The objective was to see how the center of mass moves along the meter stick based on where the masses move and change in mass of the meter stick. Measurements that will be taken are distances across the meter stick for all the different positions of center of mass and the masses of all the objects used. Uncertainties, torques (ccw and cw), rb, and mass calculations were carried out. Testing the principle of moments was used in this experiment. Experimental results measuring instrument units precision measure zero error digital scale metre stick spring scale g cm g.
