Anderson argues that nafta slowed down the process of integration, and instead created an agreement where the united states holds the most influence over the other countries involved. Canada and mexico are in favour of continental integration as they both expressed excitement over the creation of nafta. However, america expressed sovereignty over canada and mexico, and instead of connecting the three nations, it created two bilateral relationships between america and each country.
