The war has not affected all parts of europe equally but has a greater effect overall. France had half a million buildings destroyed and another one and a half building seriously damaged. 10% of cars are in running order. The war has destroyed or damaged a signi cant amount of the transportation network (roads, railways, canals, bridges, and tunnels) Same thing has happened to communication networks (telephone lines destroyed) Grow their own food in the rural area. Urban and rural needed each other to revive and restore themselves. People also need to be dealt with after the war (had to adapt to war, demobilization) It was dif cult for people to return to their defeated countries. The germans government ended when the war did. There is very little legitimate authority and very hard to establish new governments. Most of the public went along with it due to war weariness. The fate of poland was viewed differently by different powers.
