Europe"s place in the world changes as a result. The expectations of the war in europe was to be intense and short. Modern weapons would make it shorter but it didn"t. They expected it to be over quickly because the war was supposed to be professional military men. It is no possible to deliver a knock out blow. A lot of people were looking at the world economy (people who take care of business wont stand long) Britain trades with germany so the british rms cannot afford the causes of war. War did not break out before the summer of 1914. Sarajevo (archduke franz ferdinand was killed with his wife) Assassination was a way to get the point across.
