A nation refers to a group of people who regard themselves as being one people, a folk, by virtue or culture. There is a sense of belonging together as a meaningful group based on a shared culture rooted in: Culture refers to an institutionalized and patterned set of beliefs, values, behaviour and practices. Values (how to lead a good life) Practices (covering/uncovering head as a sign of respect) Nationalism is the drive of a nation to get its own state. Sense of belonging amongst one people, having their own shared identity, separate from other groups. To some extent, all nations much imagine themselves as having a shared ideal because we are no longer as tribalistic as we used to be and do not have an organic interconnection that we used to. Ethnic nationalist movements push for more independence, yet globalization increases regional integration (catalonians, kashmiris, kurds, palestinians, uighurs, scots) State refers to a political entity in a given territory.
