Map functions: how we pull information from the map (scale, ruler, etc. ) Map usage: skills needed to effectively use the maps. Portray spatial association of a selection of diverse geographical features such as roads, General/ reference maps settlements, topography, drainage, vegetation etc. Common examples of general or reference maps are the nts topographic maps series (1:50000 scale) and road maps. Thematic maps univariate and multivariate maps, and special purpose maps. Show data related to a particular theme such as soils, climate, or population.
