There have been positive changes in the development progress of many developing or newly industrialized countries such as brazil, russia, india, china and south africa (referred to collectively as brics by the media). Given that we have modern transport and communications, people are becoming increasingly interdependent. What happens to people in developing regions of asia, africa, the middle east, or latin america will in one way or another affect the people in europe and north america, and vice versa.
