Basically the relationship between the technology and the use, ex. Stone and how we use it, writing on it. Ex. different aged people would use phones for different purposes like kids and teens recording videos and taking pictures and elders using phones to call others. Ex. tvs are used for watching shows, playing video games, entertainment. Look at the web of human activities surrounding the machine . What needs to be built to support it. If it"s to be of any use, [technology] must fit into a pattern of activity which belongs to a particular lifestyle and set of values . Ex. the hand-powered ferris wheel in bombay. Progress has to be accompanied by a goal, helping achieve that goal. Cannot assume goals are universal, need to create one. Gathering workers in one place and watching over them.
