Used juveniles as research subjects to come up with these theories. Why are juveniles" delinquent: the environment they"re raised in, very impressionable, they"re bored, socio-economic status. Do their reasons for committing crimes differ from adults: yes, adults know what they"re doing when they do it, juveniles do it because they see others do it. Concepts: building blocks of theory: each theory will have concepts with specific definitions based on theory, try to explain crime. Hypothesis: statement of how variables differ in relationship to other variables: the way in which variables differ, can be complex or simple. Overall, good at studying crime that are considered conflict crimes (conflict if they should be considered crime or not) Drug use, gambling, drinking other age, loitering, etc. Over representation of people who are poor in these crimes (drug-related offenses) Telling us how to behave and what is good and bad.
