Legal + financial independence: end to discrimination against lesbians. Freedom from intimidation by threat, or use of violence / sexual coercion, regardless of marital status: an end to laws, assumptions and institutions that perpetrate male dominance and aggression toward women. Important to understand the distinctions made by feminism in relation to sex and gender. For feminist researchers systems of knowledge reflect men"s view that women should be at the centre of intellectual property not peripheral, invisible or appendages to men. Feminist perspectives make strong contributions to understanding of both biological and social constructions of what it means to be female. Males and females exhibited characteristics that are similar as a whole focus of analysis = androgyny.
