What competitive advantages do mission statements mean? quality (ex. Otis elevator, deluxe checks) low-cost (usually within a certain tolerance of quality) (ex. Quality strategies - how can you achieve quality through hr? cooperative and skilled behaviour find ways to encourage commitment to the organization (benefits, good pay, events) Differentiation strategies - what is your competitive advantage? branding creating brand loyalty, good reputation. In north america, it"s diicult to be low cost because of labour laws and regulations like minimum wage companies tend to focus on innovation and diferentiation which is the highest cost from an hr perspective. Innovation comes from diversity/new perspectives hr is an important sustainable source of competitive advantage in canada.
