BU288 Lecture Notes - Lecture 4: Reinforcement, Social Learning Theory, Interval Ratio
Document Summary
Learning: a definition: a relatively permanent change in behaviour potential that occurs due to practice or. Learning requires some sort of change that occurs. Change must be as a result of something: learning in organizations can take many forms. Intrapersonal skills: ability to control your own emotions. Interpersonal skills: how to get along with other individuals in the organization. Cultural awareness: culture of organization or the broader culture in which the organization finds itself operating in. It is the connection between the behaviour and the consequence that is learned. Behaviours followed by a positive consequence will increase. Those followed by a negative consequence will decrease. Positive reinforcement: the application or addition of a stimulus that increases or maintains the probability of some behaviour, the stimulus is the positive reinforcer, the reinforcer is dependent or contingent on the occurrence of some desired behaviour.
