Document Summary
The word tort describes any harm or injury caused by one person to another, other than through breach of contract, and for which law provides a remedy. Primary objective of the law of tort is to provide compensation to persons who are injured as a result of others actions. Trespass to land: wrongful interference with someone(cid:495)s possession of land. A false representation intentionally or recklessly made by one person to another that causes damage. Negligence: unreasonable conduct, including a careless act or omission from doing an act that causes harm to another, professional negligence, product liability: manufacturer negligently designed or produced the product, bar over serves a customer, alcohol servers, carelessness. Law of torts will not automatically provide a remedy when someone has been physically or economically injured. Tort law shifts the losses to the party at fault. The tort has to be reasonably foreseeable or reasonable preventable or no tort is committed.
