Business implication: affects uncertainty, risk, and constraints/costs faced by firm. All elements are human decisions that can be influenced. Government is often in a position where it needs to (cid:271)ala(cid:374)(cid:272)e stakeholder"s (cid:374)eeds. Buys hospital equipment, school equipment, army needs, etc. Good to do business with the government as they buy in large quantities. However, since the buy in large quantities, they have high bargaining power (lots of negotiating!!) Competitor canada post vs. ups, cbc vs. other news networks. Government funded schools (public) vs. for profit schools (private) Many people trust the government so may go with theirs: regulator/law maker. Purpose: promotes competition competition act, small business support. Banks: gives us options as customers, helping small businesses promotes entrepreneurship. Consumers: promotes innovation intellectual property rights.
