Hobbes is saying here(cid:859)s what i believe must happen in order for us to not revert back into the state of nature. Even if the leviathan is awful, its not as bad as the state of nature, you still need the leviathan. Hobbes created infrastructure of how the political system can work si(cid:373)ila(cid:396) to ma(cid:272)hia(cid:448)elli(cid:859)s. The prince but he took it to the next step, not about the prince, about society. Not very popular writing in a time of turmoil. Looking at the world around him: civil war, he was ostracized, had the opportunity to see the world around him and what he saw was bad.
