Modes of production = the way in which things are made. Proletariat (working class) vs. bourgeoisie (capitalists) sees history as that history necessary unfolds critique of capitalism. All previous industrial classes relied on conserving the old production, there is a constant revolutionizing production. In a feudal society, you had a certain thought of your particular work. Workers and the work that they did gave them their sense of identity. Constantly looking for new ways of producing things, new materials. Always comes back to the driven of province. We want to get our hands on these technological innovations. Next point is that, this change causes a disturbance in social relations, all that is solid melts into the air. If these modes of production are changing, the jobs are changing. Simply a labourer, that is indistinguishable to other ones. He is reliant on this mass of labour. Regardless, there is a disturbance in social relations.
