Document Summary

Carbonaceous chondrite small glassy spheres (chondrules) and volatiles. Stony meteorite that contains may be the last altered remains of the solar nebula still present in the solar system today. Spherical grains that formed during the early accretion of the solar system and are the building blocks of the solar system. Chondrules formed by droplets and accreted together to from asteroids and planets. Parts: inner solar system: terrestrial planets o asteroid belt, outer solar system: jovian planets, kuiper belt, oort cloud. Most of the solar system is empty space. Terrestrial planets - planets located in the inner solar system that are rocky, dense, and have metallic cores. Asteroid belt - a region of space approximately 3au from the sun, between the planets mars and jupiter, that contains the majority of asteroids in the solar system. This region is believed to be left over from planet formation. A planet did not form here likely due to disruptions from jupiter"s gravity.
