Study: free vs. adherent earlobes as predictor of relationship longevity. Found that couples where both of them have adherent earlobes have longer lasting relationships than mixed couples and couples who both have free earlobes. Findings were inconclusive, couples that participate were confused or weren"t even aware of their partner"s earlobe. Social scientists worked to develop earlobe theory of attraction: gained publicity over time and people with free earlobes were getting discriminated. Scientists concluded that earlobe types are not binary but exist on a continuum, but social practises and stereotypes attached to the earlobe binary still exists. Social construct phenomenon/category created and developed by society through cultural and social practises. People look at the end result and adapt to it and don"t think about the "original design and construction process"".
