Obesity is a disease and leads to other diseases like diabetes, cancer, heart problems, and an earlier death. Fat bodies are an economic burden on society. Fat bodies should lose weight to conform to the normal . Fatness is linked to a sociocultural disadvantage, obesogenic environment, consumerist culture. Drug companies, diet product producers, bariatrics surgeons profiting. Linkage between weight gain and links between mortality are unclear. How much people weigh has gone up. Oliver believed it"s the spreading of an idea. Kathleen lebesco - moral panics: marked by concern about an imagined threat. Hostility in the form of a mortal outrage towards individuals and agencies responsible for the problem. It is consensus that something must be done about the threat. Seeing the obese body as diseased leads to us as seeing fat people as less than human. Headless fatties news reports and pictures of headless overweight people leads to us to be less empathetic.
