We must question who is responsible for the knowledge that we know in the world. Men have traditionally produced most of the knowledge that we know today. Dead white men are responsible for the things that we know in the world today. This is a way of understanding the world that benefits specific ideas and projects. Feminists suggest that this knowledge production is incomplete. Postmodernists seek to reveal how universal truths are a way of knowing and seeing the world. These truths are not as objective as they claim to be. The egg and the sperm: a hetero(normative) romance. Emily martin published an essay based on the masculine and feminine worlds. Critiques the way as sperm as portrayed as active, while eggs are portrayed as passive and wasted during menstruation. There isn"t a winner, while the egg isn"t as passive as we think it is.
