Document Summary
Students will create a drawing of themselves imagined as a different gender or species. This project requires both observational and imaginative technique. One sheet of stonehenge (that is your largest sheet of white paper) Vine charcoal, black cont , compressed charcoal, and eraser. Mirror, plus any references you might need (pictures of animals, aliens, etc. ) Using your observation and your imagination, draw what you would look like if you were of a different gender, an animal, part machine, or even an alien. Make sure that there is something in the drawing that is recognizably you. Fill the page with either your full body/form, or from the waist up. Make sure to use as many of your drawing techniques as possible (varying line quality; value; accurate observation; pleasing composition; correct proportion, etc. Use this project as an opportunity to show the viewer a different side of your person- ality.
