And it is true, that euthanasia is a very important issue in end of life care. One of the central issues involved in an exploration of ethics is that of power. In this se(cid:374)se, (cid:862)po(cid:449)er(cid:863) is defi(cid:374)ed as the ability to do or act; to have authority to influence another person or organization; to have the ability to control and have superiority or, to have an advantage over others. In the context of healthcare, power may be acquired because of the possession of an exclusive knowledge base on aspects of health care, resulting in prestige and authority being granted to the holder of that knowledge.
