Sampling process of selecting a subset of units from a population for a study. Population set all of units in which we are interested. Sampling frame set of all units which we obtain our sample from. Simple random sample (srs) each possible sample of a chosen size has an equal chance of being selected: randomly select the units for the sample, no restrictions on sample members or formation, all combinations are equally possible o. The best &easiest method of obtaining a representative sample. Stratified sample population is split into 2+ groups, then a random sample is drawn proportionately from each strata. Cluster sample population is divided into regions, then a random sample of regions are censused. Systematic sample a starting point is randomly selected, and then units are sampled at a constant interval. Can achieve a desired percentage, or an estimation of the total population, by testing a properly selected sample of the population.
