Second wave: national self-determination *** - creation of new states. Impetus: major world war (wwii) and new state formation. Activities: guerilla warfare against mostly military troops. Geography: mostly domestic with international aspects; terrorist group acknowledge international bonds, very little cooperation. Response: mixed, but mostly negative; the emergence of the freedom fighter.
