If you come back (after going through treatment), the sentence is often worse (not given a second chance) Sentencing circles are giving people that have no more hope, hope that they can change for the better. Punishment used to be rather than separating people to isolation, they would send them away together until they resolved the problem: finding the goodness in the other person. Circle sentencing would have helped because it allows people who are affected are able to express their frustrations in a constructive way.
