The way we go about change in the past are built on myths. We need to look at evidence that shows how change works. Technology is merely a tool to help change; it is not the essence of the change. Corporate principles are actually similar to those in the social model of leadership (often used in non-profits) Takes a huge amount of effort to get it to move initially. But if you push in a consistent direction, then you will pick up speed and it won"t feel so heavy. Collins argues that the key to change is to first understand what not to change. Key is in core values: remain guided by core values. Need to look at the process, not just the miracle moment it happens (chicken/egg example) In meaningful change, you cannot pinpoint one single point where it happens: who you are during the change is what matters.
