Most importantly, it motivates all the other components of your research. You must synthesize them, focusing on how they relate to your study. Use them to build your own argument. Consider your audience don"t overestimate what they know: you must provide explanations. Time appropriate budgeting of time and meetings/creating reasonable deadlines: understand expectations, do your best under the circumstances, never turn in the first draft!
