Ethic of care to guide moral decisions, especially on the world stage. Men guide themselves through individual rights, the right to free speech, etc whereas women care more for others. Critiques: it is an essentialist theory. These essential traits (nurturing, caring) are apparently what make us women- but this is an overgeneralization. Women can be aggressive and competitive, and men can be caring and patient. Grew out of liberalism, influenced by liberal philosophy that all humans have capacity to reason: came out of the european enlightenment. Different from cultural feminism, because liberal feminism holds that men and women are the same (with some different physical traits)
