Lasch"s narcissist is: protectively shallow, sexually promiscuous, ravenous need for admiration, emotional experiences to fill inner void, fight feelings of emptiness and inauthenticity, charming, lacks curiosity about others, lacks real intellectual engagement with world, little capacity for sublimation or sustained work, parasitically dependent on infusions of admiration, chronically bored & in search of instant intimacy. Can call it whatever you would like narcissism, self-esteem, confidence. Narcissism is like a mask deep down they hate themselves . There is no factual evidence to prove any. Most beautiful letter is a letter of their own name. Disrespectful bullies do not need self-esteem, they have too much they need to learn respect for others. Studies show that people who think they are better are generally not better. You can feel good by doing things that make you happy. Not really about the self that is not true. Like an alcoholic being given free beer for life.
