Enterprise crime any other type of work: allows us to think of enterprise crime in terms of business-like matters, rather than criminal- like matters. Role of: (a) ethnic succession, (b) cultural background, and (c) regulation. Economic and societal costs are enormous: undermines tax base: goods are being sold with no tax, promotes disrespect for the law. Public health and public safety: thinking about crime in terms of a health problem, think about it in terms of the whole population (rather than the specific individuals) that is at risk. Primary prevention: programs directed at a whole community or population at mass (population at risk) I. e. , education about the dangers of the internet - delicate issue. Secondary prevention: parts of the population who are at especially high risk. I. e. , revitalizing the usage of downtown cores that have been abandoned. Tertiary prevention: target a relapse (recidivism) crime has happened and we want to prevent it from happening again.
