George herbert mead: our social self is developed through the interacion between the i and the me . This is based on the noion that we are able to see ourselves as both subject and object. When we initiate social acion the self operates as a subject ( i ) When we take the role of the other the self operates as an object ( me ) George herbert mead: 4 stages of socializaion: inimidaion, pretend, game, the generalized other. A community cannot deal with people it cannot deine.
