Completely associated with nominalism: they believe the world is completely socially constructed, everyday experience is experienced by members of society, consciousness and perception : sensory and perception, all knowledge is experiential, subjective meaning. Interested in questioning taken for granted, everyday actions. Look at world as an outsider: suspend values: figure out what people are doing. Set own ideological values to try and figure what people are doing: stock of knowledge : common sense construct. Ex: two people watching the same hockey game: meaningful object: object becomes meaningfully constituted. Communicate with others on the basis of shared interpretation. Nothing has a fixed meaning, and everything is dependent on context.
