Document Summary

The worker therefore only feels himself outside his work, and in his work feels outside himself. He feels at home when he is not working, and when he is working he does not feel at home. His labor is therefore not voluntary, but coerced; it is forced labor. It is therefore not the satisfaction of a need; it is merely a means to satisfy needs external to it. (marx 1964, p. 72) From the product of labour: input their labour to make products but cannot enjoy the end product, cannot control how much or when you produce. From the labour process: no control over their working conditions. No input on when and how they make things. From our human nature: humans are supposed to organize their own environment and build their collective community, in capitalism, you cannot build collective community-hood cannot organize your environment the way you want.
