Maclean"s brings gender pay gap to cover price. Maclean released a cover that states women pay . 99 and men pay . 81 for a magazine. It reflects the pay gap that exists in today"s workplace. The difference is being donated to a women"s scholarship. There are many numbers surrounding pay equity - it goes up to 50% (for women of colour, 36% (for part time workers), and 26% (for full time workers) The gap has not moved at all in the past 30 years. It is 10% in most tech positions, however most women never receive promotions to be employed in those higher level positions. People assume that women don"t have the experience that men do, resulting in less pay. These are the key numbers that explain the wage gap for women.
